What sets the price. No mystery.
Two sites that look the same can take very different amounts of work. These are the things that move a quote up or down.
- Page types, not page count. Ten service pages built from one template cost far less than ten pages that each need their own design.
- Who writes the words. Turning your notes into pages is included. Writing a large amount of new content from scratch takes longer.
- Connections to other tools. A booking system, a CRM, Xero or a mailing list each add a little. Anything with an API is usually straightforward.
- Selling online. A shop adds Stripe checkout, order emails and an orders list: £500 on top of a business website, more for complex delivery or product options.
- Editing it yourself. The admin portal lets you change pages, prices and photos yourself, with logins for your team: £850 on top of a business website. Without it, we make changes for you on a care plan. Customer logins and bookings need a bigger portal, quoted in stages.
- Size of the old site. Migrating twenty pages is quick. Migrating a thousand blog posts and product URLs takes a proper redirect map and more checking.

How payment works.
Nothing to pay for the plan. After that, payment is staged: 40% to go ahead, 40% when designs are signed off, 20% at launch. You never pay for work you have not seen.

What is not included.
Better to say it now than on an invoice later. These are either paid to someone else, or quoted separately if you want them.
- Other companies' fees. Stripe's card fees, your domain name renewal, and any subscriptions you choose, such as a booking system, an email newsletter tool or SMS credits.
- Photography. We work with your photos and can advise on what to shoot. A professional photographer is booked and paid separately.
- Logo and brand identity. We build around your existing logo and colours. A full rebrand is a separate piece of work.
- Large amounts of new writing. Structuring and editing your words is included. Writing a blog archive or dozens of new articles is quoted separately.
- Translations. A site in more than one language is quoted per language.
- Hosting and changes after launch. These come with a care plan rather than the build price. Work beyond your plan's hours is £60 an hour.
How bigger projects are priced.
Web portals, mobile apps, business systems, integrations and AI work do not have a price list, because the scope sets the price. They are priced as a fixed quote, in stages, after a free consultation.

Why do you show "from" prices?
Because a hidden price usually means an expensive one, and most small businesses assume the worst. £450 is where a business website starts. Your free website plan turns it into a fixed figure for your site before you commit to anything.
What makes a website cost more than the "from" price?
More page types, a lot of new writing, integrations with other systems, a large catalogue, or a big site to migrate. The section above lists what moves the price, and the fixed quote shows exactly where yours lands.
Is the quote really fixed?
Yes. The price in your quote is the price you pay for what it describes. If you ask for something new partway through, we quote it separately before doing it, so there are no surprises on the final invoice.
Do I have to take a care plan?
No, but most clients do, because it covers hosting, backups, updates and changes. Care plans have a 12-month minimum. Without one, you own the code and can host it wherever you like.
What does extra work cost?
£60 an hour, agreed before we start. Care plans include hours each month, so small changes usually cost nothing extra.
Why don't you publish prices for portals, apps and systems?
Because the scope sets the price, and two portals can differ tenfold. We give you a fixed quote in stages after a free consultation, and you can stop after any stage.
